For a musician as famous and accomplished as Bela Fleck (he’s won 16 Grammy Awards), he may also be one of the most enigmatic. His jam project, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, has been on and off tour radars since a band hiatus in 2012. They are the type of band that takes off for a year or two—never texts you back—but then shows up at your doorstep one fine day. And because they’re so good, you’re not even mad.
If you live North of the Mason-Dixon line, prepare for a rare visit from this unique bluegrass-jazz fusion experience. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones have announced a tour for summer 2018 that will take them across North America. The tour is set to kick off on the East Coast in late June, taking them from Rochester, NY to Eastern Canada, through America’s heartland, and ending in the Pacific Northwest in mid-July. However, with new dates being announced almost weekly, who knows where else these musical veterans will pay a visit.
